A Representation of Finite, Positive, Commutative Tomonoids

We propose a representation of totally ordered monoids (or tomonoids, for short) that are commutative, positive, and finite. We identify these structures with compatible and positive total preorders on N. To describe the latter, we utilise socalled direction f-cones, making use of the special form of the associated congruences on N.

Commutative Positive Varieties of Languages

We study the commutative positive varieties of languages closed under various operations: shuffle, renaming and product over one-letter alphabets. Most monoids considered in this paper are finite. In particular, we use the term variety of monoids for variety of finite monoids. Similarly, all languages considered in this paper are regular languages and hence their syntactic monoid is finite.

Non-Commutative Formal Groups in Positive Characteristic

We describe geometric non-commutative formal groups in terms of a geometric commutative formal group with a Poisson structure on its splay algebra. We describe certain natural properties of such Poisson structures and show that any such Poisson structure gives rise to a non-commutative formal group. We describe geometric non-commutative formal groups in terms of a geometric commutative formal g...

Semi-Simple Commutative Algebras with Positive Bases

Algebras that serve as models for concurrent studying of certain aspects of both the algebra of ordinary characters and the center of the group algebra have been considered by various authors. In this article we o¤er another such model. The main di¤erences between our model and the known ones are: 1. Our model includes Brauer characters and principal indecomposable characters as special cases. ...

ON COMMUTATIVE GELFAND RINGS

A ring is called a Gelfand ring (pm ring ) if each prime ideal is contained in a unique maximal ideal. For a Gelfand ring R with Jacobson radical zero, we show that the following are equivalent: (1) R is Artinian; (2) R is Noetherian; (3) R has a finite Goldie dimension; (4) Every maximal ideal is generated by an idempotent; (5) Max (R) is finite. We also give the following resu1ts:an ideal...
